Austin, TX Thursday January 22, 2015 Dr. Paul Vermeulen, Senior Application Technologist at SACHEM, is presenting a poster titled “Electrolyte for supercapacitors: The effect of impurities and voltage window expansion” at the Advanced Automotive Battery Conference (AABC) Europe in Mainz, Germay January 26th-27th.
The poster will highlight recent research performed by Dr. Vermeulen and his team that demonstrates the importance of low halide levels in electrolytes and the direct effect they have on the energy storage capability of a supercapacitor over time. In addition, SACHEM associates will be available to discuss a new, high purity electrolyte solution which shows at least a +40% increase in the total amount of energy the device is able to store. This new product will be added to the Avanta EL™ family, SACHEM’s portfolio of electrolyte chemicals. Energy Storage Market Manager, Brian Mooney, commented, “SACHEM is excited to take our expertise in manufacturing high purity ionic salts and help our customers achieve their most challenging performance goals.”
The European Advanced Automotive Battery Conference is the leading European forum where automakers and energy-storage system developers discuss the status and prospects of the latest advanced batteries to meet the needs of the European market.
