Cationization Agents
Developed in the early 1970’s, SACHEM is one of the oldest and leading global producers of 3-chloro-2-hydroxypropyl trimethylammonium chloride (REAGENS-S-CFZ or CHPT) and the glycidyl derivative GMAC. Both are derived from epichlorohydrin and trimethylamine and serve as the market’s main cationization agents.
SACHEM’s Reagens and GMAC are utilized in the cationization of starch. Our customers use our cationization agents to cationize starch to be utilized by the paper industry for processing of high quality paper grades.
Reagens is supplied in bulk, IBC’s and drums in both a 65% and 69% solution.
GMAC is supplied in bulk, IBC’s and drums, and has a lower stability than the Reagens derivative.
