Cleburne, TX Monday, September 30, 2013 – As part of SACHEM’s commitment to the community, the Cleburne site recently hosted a plant tour with the local fire department. The goal was to provide an overview of SACHEM as a company and our commitment to health, safety, and the environment. We also wanted to familiarize the Cleburne Fire Department with the plant and any hazards that may be present if they were called out to assist in an emergency. The CFD tour groups were composed of veterans and rookies, and they came in small groups twice a day for three days.
This was a great way to introduce SACHEM to new fire department staff and refresh the seasoned veterans who had visited our site before. SACHEM’s Responsible Care® and Operations plan to do this annually as a commitment to being good stewards in our local community and as a part of SACHEM’s community outreach. The CFD was enthusiastic about the meeting and agreed it would be great to meet on an annual basis.
SACHEM participation in Responsible Care is a condition of membership for American Chemistry Council. 2013 marked the 25th anniversary of Responsible Care in the United States and ACC launched an enhanced program that strengthens industry’s commitment to the safety of its products and manufacturing process, and includes new operational energy efficiency and performance measurements.
