SACHEM, Inc. is pleased to announce that Dr. C. Patrick “Pat” McAtee will join its team of highly accomplished scientists. Dr. McAtee will support the development of SACHEM’s portfolio of high purity biotechnology products called SACHEM Biotechnology Solutions™(SBS). Dr. McAtee’s primary role will be to help new and existing customers implement SACHEM’s displacement chromatography technology as well as explore new market applications for displacement chromatography and other SBS™ products. SACHEM’s portfolio of Expell™, Isolis™, and Propell™ displacers are used in a variety of applications such as protein, peptide and oligonucleotide purification , quality control, impurity isolation, biocomparability and process control.
Dr. C. Patrick “Pat” McAtee comes to SACHEM with over 20 years of experience in industrial biochemistry and proteomics. His work includes the development of an efficacious vaccine to Hepatitis E, the discovery of the Hepatitis G virus as well as the deorphaning of disease related kinases and peptidases. He is the author of numerous publications and patents in the areas of proteomics, protein purification, and infectious diseases. He has a B.S. from The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, an M.S. from Southern Illinois University and received his PhD in Biochemistry from The University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. He also completed postgraduate programs at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and The Harvard School of Public Health.
Dr. McAtee has also been very active in coaching girls basketball and is the founder and head coach of the AAU Texas Shooting Stars Girls Basketball Team.
