Cleburne, Texas February 22, 2018 – Congressman Roger Williams (R-Austin) visited with the Cleburne manufacturing plant, SACHEM, Inc., a Texas-based, family-owned chemical science company, this afternoon to meet with the SACHEM associates and to tour their facility. As a small business owner for his entire working life, Rep. Williams joined SACHEM, Inc. President and CEO John Mooney to discuss small business legislation and regulations, such as the new Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, and how it will impact the local business.
“Local businesses such as SACHEM are a fundamental part of Texas’ 25th Congressional District, and I am excited to see them flourishing as a result of the new tax law,” said Rep. Williams. “As a business owner, it was great to meet with the employees and hear their ideas that I will continue to represent and take with me to Washington. These workers need someone who understands the hardships of operating a business to represent them, and I am honored to fight for them each and every day.”
SACHEM, Inc. President and CEO John Mooney made the following comments:
“It was a pleasure to have Congressman Williams tour our plant and see what we do and how we do it,” said Mooney. “SACHEM is a family
oriented company and our mission is to use our technology to create solutions that positively impact the industries we are in and the communities in which we reside.”
Mr. Mooney and his family have been in the chemical science industry since 1950. They have grown from a few dozen employees and one plant to over 300 employees, four manufacturing plants, eight offices, and have a global presence with distribution channels across 30+ countries. With these statistics in mind, SACHEM, Inc. remains a family owned and operated small business headquartered in Austin, Texas.
