Austin, TX – December 21, 2009- SACHEM is pleased to announce that its Austin and Cleburne facilities were each recognized by the Society of Chemical Manufacturers & Affiliates (SOCMA) as Silver Award Winners in the 2009 Performance Improvement Awards Program.
The 2009 Performance Improvement Awards Program is based on individual facility achievements in ChemStewards®’ Environmental, Health, Safety & Security program during the timeframe of January toDecember 2008. The awards program highlights member dedication to the following ChemStewards®Core Principles: Stakeholder Communication, Product Stewardship, EHS&S in Planning and Operations, Employee Training and Engagement and Resource Management and Waste Minimization SOCMA recognizes three out of 146 eligible in each category. Both SACHEM facilities were individually recognized in the Product Stewardship category for excellence in promoting the concepts of product stewardship throughout a product’s life-cycle.
