Austin, TX – December 7, 2009- SACHEM’s Monterey Oaks Research Lab has earned the Excellence in Pretreatment Compliance Award by the City of Austin- Water Utility Division for its leadership in and perfect adherence to the City’s stringent water treatment requirements.  SACHEM’s Monterey Oaks Research Lab has met the award’s eligibility criteria for the third consecutive year.

The Excellence in Pretreatment Award is awarded to Significant Industrial Users (SIUs) connected to the City’s sanitary sewer system that have distinguished themselves for taking the leadership in controlling the quality and quantity of discharges into the City’s wastewater system.  These efforts improve the health and safety of the public while also helping to protect the environment. SACHEM has devoted significant training time and organizational attention to address self-monitoring and reporting requirements required by the City.
