Senior Cost Analyst

As the Sr. Cost Analyst you will support to the Controller to maintain, develop, and facilitate the cost accounting process using our current ERP and accounting systems. This position provides ongoing cost accounting, variance analysis, financial analysis, and materials planning support to executive and managers and their department, auditors, government agencies, board members and shareholders.

Key Responsibility Areas:

  • Responsible for  the total Cost System including but not limited to the following areas: manufacturing costs, inventory costs, new product cost
  • Prepare cost estimates of new or special products for establishing selling prices and manufacturing budgets
  • Provide calculation of burden rates for manufacturing standards
  • Responsible for providing month-end process support for SACHEM Americas and Corporate
    • Run all inventory month-end reports and reconcile to general ledger balances, review physical inventory and adjustment sheets
    • Prepare any general ledger journal entries as required for inventories, manufacturing costs, other costs, or miscellaneous items as required for recording monthly activity
    •  Calculate and record by journal entry the month’s inter-company elimination of profit in inventory between all SACHEM business units
  • Responsible for year-end audit support  for SACHEM Americas and Corporate
    • Maintain and deliver year-end reports for SACHEM Americas inventories, manufacturing cost, other costs, and NCB bank reconciliation as required by external auditors
    • Provide data as requested from internal and external auditors
  • Previous experience implementing  and maintain inventory systems
  • Serve as a backup to other finance associates and assist with timely, accurate processing and information for all requests in this capacity
  • Assess variances, root causes,  and implement solutions and reporting to prevent ongoing issues
  • Facilitate any corrective action and ensure all procedures are followed correctly
  • Actively engage in continuous improvement of quality and dynamically participate in CIQ groups
  • Accountable for providing timely and accurate bank reconciliations

Knowledge & Skills Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • Minimum of 3 – 5 years professional experience in cost accounting in manufacturing industry
  • Chemical industry experience is a huge plus
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Knowledge of ERP systems like Ross, Microsoft Dynamics, or SAP
